Ceratosaurus is a medium-sized carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, around 155 to 145 million years ago. Fossils have been primarily discovered in the Morrison Formation of North America (such as Colorado and Utah) as well as Portugal in Europe.

Physical Characteristics
• Name Meaning: "Horned lizard," referencing the prominent bony horn on its snout.
• Size: Measured about 16 to 23 feet (5 to 7 meters) long and weighed roughly 1,000 to 2,000 pounds (0.5 to 1 ton).
• Distinct Features: It featured a tall nasal horn, small bumps over its eyes, short four-fingered front limbs, and a unique row of small bony armor plates (osteoderms) running down its back.
• Teeth: It had unusually long, blade-like teeth designed to inflict deep wounds.

Diet and Habitat
• Diet: A meat-eater that hunted smaller dinosaurs and potentially consumed aquatic prey such as fish, turtles, and crocodiles.
